Junior Warrior Program - ages 9/10 to 14 years old.
The movements of karate develop coordination and increase strength and flexibility, which are very important during the growth years. Through the discipline of karate, this program builds character, honor, and integrity. Safety and Stranger Awareness are emphasized. Self-confidence is built by providing the student with control over his or her body, the ability to stand up to peer pressure and other intimidating situations, and the right to say "NO".
This program is building the foundation for a "Peaceful Warrior" with the spirit to fight back if need be. The result is a student who will control his/her emotions, a student who will act without violence, and a student who will know how to handle violence both internally and externally. Through karate, the student learns the needed skills to protect themselves mentally and physically. We are very careful to teach all our studetns that Karate is about "Defense" and the use of the physical skills taught, have a responsibility and a consequence. The result is a self-confident student who does not need to bully or show off, but becomes a leader and a role model.
The curriculum is based on 6 levels per rank. Each student receives a new rank level sheet at each transition from belt to belt. Once the student learns to earn and based on the satisfaction of the instructor, he/she will award the student with a stripe on their belt. Once all 6 stripes are attained by the student, the student goes into preperation for their rank testing. Once tested and passed, the student attends promotions gets promoted to the next rank and the cycle repeats.
Each level has a minium time in rank as well a min time in attendance.
